Through a flash-back technique, the writer goes back to the past, so as to unravel the story. A new window to the local history opens up, touching facts that, even in our days, cause pain: poverty, immigration and the uncertainty people, who are obliged to leave their native lands, as refugees, face.
''The message'' is in fact a historical novel telling the bitter story of the unlucky refugees who had left Asia Minor by force, one of the many similar stories that our island has experienced, and, unfortunately, is till experiencing.
Because, as mentioned in this novel, ''History and our Story meet...''.
